Happy Valentine's Day--Heart Health

Posted on 02/14/2014 02:41:00 PM

In honor of Valentine's Day, here is an interesting article explaining that there is a relationship between heart disease and depression.

This article from the National Institute of Mental Health explains that while researchers aren't sure exactly why the relationship between depression and heart disease exists, there is one, nevertheless.

The good news is that interventions for depression are also good for our heart.  Regular exercise, a healthy diet, reducing alcohol intake and quitting smoking are all good for treating symptoms of depression (and anxiety, as well).

Do something loving for yourself and loved ones--consider taking better care of your heart, and at the same time your recovery plan for depression gets a boost.

Happy Valentine's Day!
