Mindfulness in the Midst of a Stressful Situation

Posted on 05/08/2014 12:21:00 PM

We work a lot on CBT skills as a way to reduce anxiety, increase relapse prevention, and improve mood. We also have groups on Mindfulness which can provide the same results.

Here is a link to an article about how both CBT and Mindfulness can work together to help us manage when we find ourselves with an unexpected and/or stressful event. The author describes mindfulness as a way of cultivating resilience. What a great word. We would like to see ourselves as resilient--able to bend and tolerate whatever blows our way, rather than be broken by life's events.
