If you're living with anxiety and haven’t found the relief you need through medication or talk therapy, you’re not alone. Anxiety disorders are pervasive, and many people continue to struggle even after trying several treatments.
At MidValley Healthcare, with welcoming clinics in Boise and Meridian, we understand how frustrating and exhausting anxiety can feel. That’s why we offer NeuroStar® Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy a non-invasive, drug-free, and FDA-cleared treatment designed to help patients like you feel better without the side effects of medication.
What Is NeuroStar® TMS Therapy?
TMS therapy uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate specific areas of your brain involved in mood and anxiety regulation. It's done right in our office; no medication, sedation, or recovery time is needed.
Each session typically lasts 3 to 20 minutes, depending on your treatment plan. You stay awake and alert the entire time, and you can return to your normal activities afterward, even driving yourself home.

How Can TMS Help with Anxiety?
TMS was initially developed to treat depression, but it’s now being used to help people with anxiety disorders as well, including:
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): If you often feel overwhelmed by constant worry, TMS may help quiet those racing thoughts and improve your ability to relax.
- Panic Disorder: For people who experience sudden, intense panic attacks, TMS may help reduce how often they happen and how strongly they affect you.
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): While PTSD is a trauma-related condition, it includes many anxiety symptoms. TMS may help ease hypervigilance, flashbacks, and emotional reactivity.
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): OCD is closely related to anxiety and involves repetitive thoughts or behaviors. NeuroStar® offers special TMS protocols designed to target the brain regions involved in OCD, with growing evidence of success.

What Makes TMS Different?
Many patients come to us after trying medications that didn’t work or caused side effects they couldn’t tolerate, like weight gain, fatigue, or emotional numbness. TMS offers an alternative that:
- Doesn’t involve medication
- Doesn’t require sedation
- Has minimal side effects (mild scalp discomfort or headache in early sessions)
- Can be done quickly and comfortably in our clinic
Some people start noticing results after just a few weeks, and full benefits are typically seen after completing the full course of treatment.
Is TMS Right for Me?
If you're new to mental health treatment or have tried other options with limited success, we’ll help you decide if TMS therapy is the right fit. At MidValley Healthcare, we take the time to understand your unique story, past treatments, and goals for the future.
We offer personalized consultations, during which we’ll answer your questions, explain how TMS works, and walk you through every step of the process.
