CBT and Motivational Interviewing are Effective for Treating Co-Occurring Alcoholism and Depression

At MidValley, we will be starting our chemical dependency and dual diagnosis (also referred to as co-occurring) IOP in the next few months. 

 

Our treatment focus will be primarily from a CBT perspective.Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been found to be effective in helping people with many different types of mental health issues.Motivational Interviewing, while not a 'therapy' per se, is a way of communicating about behavioral change. MI is something our clinicians are trained in.
